Autumn Newsletter 2010

EnergyWatchIT NewsletterWelcome to the August Edition of the EnergyWatchIT Newsletter.

Up and coming electricity levy!

The Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Eamon Ryan, has recently announced a new electricity levy which is due to come into effect this October. This will hike electricity prices for home and business by up to 5% this time, with the real possibility of further increases.

Help beat the levy!

Help beat the levy by installing innovative new software called EnergyWatchIT. EnergyWatchIT will significantly reduce electricity used by computers, and save an average of €55 per PC per year. Savings generated from using the EnergyWatchIT system will more than cover the increased cost of running your computer network, as well as provide important carbon savings.

Summer Newsletter 2010

Welcome to the First Edition of the EnergyWatchIT Newsletter.

EnergyWatchIT is a policy-management computer system suitable for all organisations. This system provides easy to use network PC power management and reporting, which means very valuable savings in terms of reduced energy consumption for PC networks and associated costs.

Maurice Ahern (Energy Manager at University College Cork) said “The EnergyWatchIT system should prove to be of great benefit to organisations who are actively and aggressively pursuing Energy reductions in their organisations. Here in UCC we have been targeting staff and students through an awareness campaign, and the benefit of an automatic close down of the equipment is an important step forward in that campaign. In areas with a large concentration of PCs, it will also reduce the cooling load, prolong equipment life and reduce maintenance.”
